Board of Directors

As a start-up organization, BHBD has a volunteer working board that aids in the programmatic, fundraising, and administrative functions. We are currently recruiting 3 new Board members. Click here to access the Board of Directors descriptions and application!

 

In September 2016, we will also be launching a youth advisory committee composed of BHBD participants.

Hasena Williams-Member

Hasena Williams is a Denver native who is committed to helping people of color fulfill their potential. As an electrical engineer Hasena has donated her time to a variety of math, science, and engineer programs that serve young people and women of color. Additionally Hasena is an avid traveler who believes in the power of getting out of our comfort zones.  

Dominiqué Fowler
Director of Public Relations

Dominique Fowler is from Altadena, California. She attends Johnson and Wales University in Denver and majors in Counseling Psychology. Upon graduation she hopes to continue her studies in the Masters program and work towards owning a private practice. In her free time, she loves to draw, write, or hang out with friends. She is interested in working with Big Hair, Bigger Dreams in order to help show young women their full potential while expressing themselves through writing.

Lysa Mosley- Secretary 

Lysa was born and raised in Denver and is a graduate of East High School. She brings an abundance of real world experience. She started working at the age of 15. She wants to work with Big Hair, Bigger Dreams because she understands the struggle of balancing work life with school life. She wants to share her experiences and teach girls how to take time out for themselves; show them they are worth it. Her interests include reading, traveling, and trying new things. 

Jacquelyn Logan- Treasurer

Jackie Logan, owner of Neat Stuff at the Black Market, is a living institution on the Historic Welton Street corridor of Denver. Jackie, has 18 years of experience working directly in the communities that Big Hair, Bigger Dreams is committed to serving. 

 

Ms. Logan has served on the board of directors and/or in other leadership capacities for organizations such as: The Denver Lions Club, the Piton Foundation,  the Black American West Museum, Denver Kwanzaa Planning Committee, Cross Cultural Community Center, and the YWCA.

 

In addition to her high level non-profit leadership background, Jackie brings with her a plethora of experiences working with young women from operating as a camp counselor to leading children's church. In these capacities she has aided many transitioning from girlhood to womanhood. Her contributions to Big Hair, Bigger Dreams are diverse and dynamic.

Barry Logan-Member

Barry Logan brings a rich history of organizational leadership and logistical experience. As an undergraduate student, Barry chaired one of the most impactful and successful student organizations on his campus. From life as a student, to his professional career as the lead auditor for the City of Indianapolis, Barry continues to effectively mentor, train and empower people of all ages.

Lakeysha Molock-Member

 With over 10 years of experience in education and non-profit management, Lakeysha Molock has created high quality, innovative programming to serve hundreds of girls from diverse backgrounds. In her current capacity as the Manager of High School Programs for Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, Lakeysha plays a fundamental role in helping girls actualize their educational potential. In addition to designing and implementing dozens of her own initiatives, Lakeysha has reached out to train and develop budding leaders in the world of non-profits by offering consulting services and other pro-bono support. Through her combined efforts, Lakeysha has been able to effectively empower young people not only to become student leaders in school, but also power players on the professional landscape.
