2015 Journalism and Stemp Camp

Our summer camp is an intensive summer experience where girls learn the ins and outs of journalism and technology. At the end of the camp girls will have accomplished the following:

  • Published a mini-version of the Denver Urban Spectrum Newspaper

  • Created a Website

  • Created a Mini-documentary on a subject that impacts their community

  • We trust that girls will graduate from our camp increased exposure to careers in journalism and technology.

Our 2015 Summer Camp Participants

Kiana English is a Senior at Denver School of the Arts. She has been in theatre for over 9 years and plans to pursue acting in a conservatory in Los Angeles, California in the year of fall 2016. She would like to do acting, but plans to have her own talk show. She continues to be social and a positive light to others.

Jalea Molock is 16 years young and a sophomore at Edmond North High School. In her free time she enjoys hanging with friends, drawing, and volunteering at the Oklahoma Regional food bank. She also enjoys singing and acting. Please check out my summer project website and movie below.

Breanna Farbes is 15 years old as of today. She is a sophomore at East High school.  She is the 2nd oldest of 9 kids. She plans on going to school to major in medicine or politics. She has a scholarship at Regis University and plans on going to Lsu or Ucla. She would like to thank her family and friends for their continuous support and encouragement.

Jasmine Johnson is a junior at Monarch High School who takes school extremely seriously. After graduating from high school she wants to attend a university on the East Coast and major in English. Further in her academic career she wants to go to law school to become a high-end lawyer. Aside from school, Jasmine loves to run and be active outdoors in her free time. The Big Hair Bigger Dreams camp, has opened up Jasmine’s interest in Journalism and Technology.
